Wild Hope

She was just stunning. Her hair was all up in a sorted pony, and she wore the most amazing round plastic glasses. Comfort clothing donned her whispy frame. She stood there, tiny on the giant porch, about 10 feet from me and the other beauty who had come to see what we do here. Both of them were taken in by the scenery, but more so by the unseen, yet holy, presence.

She smiled as she looked out over the pond, across the fields and up the mountains. As she talked to the God who created it all, her smile stretched to a grin. "I believe in Wild Hope!," she exclaimed. I could not help but let my own smile stretch a bit. She was infectious.

She went on, "Wild Hope is not reasonable. It is based in the impossible. That is what people who come here need. To believe God will do the impossible for them even in thier situation." A lump swelled up in my throat. She gets our purpose.

She hunted through her phone while the rest of us talked to God about those who have not come yet. She was searching for words. I didn't know she is a music minister. God knew. He also knew I would be reduced to tears when she opened her mouth a second time.

We quieted and she sang, a ccapella.

All throughout my history Your faithfulness has walked beside me The winter storms made way for spring In every season, from where I'm standing

I see the evidence of Your goodness All over my life, all over my life I see Your promises in fulfillment All over my life, all over my life

Help me remember when I'm weak Fear may come, but fear will leave You lead my heart to victory You are my strength and You always will be

I see the evidence of Your goodness All over my life, all over my life I see Your promises in fulfillment All over my life, all over my life

See the cross, the empty grave The evidence is endless All my sin rolled away Because of You, oh, Jesus See the cross, the empty grave The evidence is endless All my sin rolled away Because of You, oh, Jesus

Oh

I see the evidence of Your goodness All over my life, all over my life I see Your promises in fulfillment All over my life, all over my life, yeah I see the evidence of Your goodness (when I wake up in the morning) All over my life (I see Your mercies are new) All over my life (yeah, You're all around us)

I see Your promises in fulfillment All over my life, all over my life (yeah, You're all around us)

So why should I fear? The evidence is here Why should I fear? Oh, the evidence is here**

I let tears of Wild hope sneak from my eyes. This is what we long for. To remind others that no matter what happens or has happened; no matter what we do or have done; God is still Good to us, and, if we will seek him, we will find what we thought impossible. Each of us standing there on the big porch remains a testimony of Wild, unreasonable Hope~~Hope that God would do what we believe is not going to happen... and that he would do it solely because he loves us so much that he wants us to know how far he will go to prove it.

What do you think could never happen?

Come. We will take you to the one who grants answers to Wild Hope.
